This is a story about the family curse that caused sleepless nights.
Once upon a time, there was a family with a strange and unsettling problem. They never slept. Their eyes were always wide open, red and bulging, hanging out of their sockets. They looked perpetually exhausted, and the reason was a chilling family curse.
Every time they tried to sleep, they were haunted by terrifying ghosts. The curse was a legacy from their ancestors, who had angered the spirits long ago.
One day, while the parents were busy in the basement, the children went outside to explore. The sight of them shocked the neighbors so much that they screamed in terror. The neighbors had never seen anything so frightening. They immediately called a town meeting and decided that the family had to leave. The family was banished from the town and moved to a dense, dark forest on the outskirts.
In the forest, even the animals stayed far away. The family was so frightening that not even the fiercest bears or lions dared to come near them. To survive, they found the tallest tree in the forest and built a house high up in its branches, hoping that the height would keep them safe.
One day, a herbalist named Gideon was foraging for medicinal herbs when he stumbled upon the family’s treehouse. Gideon was struck by the sight of their bulging eyes. He realized that their eyes could be used to make a powerful potion that would make old people look young again. He saw a chance to become very rich.
At night, Gideon sneaked up to the treehouse, hoping to capture one of the family members. He thought they were asleep with their eyes open. As he tried to cut off one of their eyes, a child suddenly screamed. The loud noise startled Gideon, making him fall to the ground. The entire family, disturbed by the noise, stood up with their eerie, staring eyes. They quickly tied Gideon up.
Gideon, realizing he was in serious trouble, offered the family a deal. He promised to break the curse if they spared his life. Although the family was wary of Gideon’s reputation as a trickster, they were desperate for a cure and decided to take the risk.
Gideon pulled out a small bag and mixed a potion, claiming it would end the curse. He then used a small clock to hypnotize the family, making them fall asleep. While they were unconscious, he cut off their eyes, thinking he had won.
But Gideon didn’t know that the curse would transfer to whoever took the eyes. While he managed to make his potion and sell it for a fortune, he could never sleep again. The curse followed him, and he lived the rest of his life in sleepless torment.
As for the family, with the curse lifted, they finally enjoyed peaceful sleep for the first time in generations. They were free from their haunted nightmares and lived their lives in quiet, restful comfort.
Moral of the story: Don’t do something until you have all the facts. Trying to deceive others can lead to unexpected and unfortunate consequences.
