The First Born

Once upon a time, in a quaint village nestled between rolling hills and emerald green fields. There lived a poor old farmer and his three devoted sons. The sons, strong and full of vigor, assisted their father in his daily chores as the weight of age began to slow his steps.

As the seasons turned and the old farmer’s health declined, he knew his time was drawing near. One fateful day, a sickness overcame him, and with a heavy heart, he succumbed to its grasp. Before bidding farewell to his sons, he bequeathed them the fruits of his labor. To the youngest, he granted the vast expanse of the family farm. The second-born received the sturdy farmhouse and its accompanying possessions. While the eldest found himself holding pieces of torn paper, a mysterious necklace, and a modest sum of money.

Perplexed and slightly disheartened, the eldest son pondered the reason behind his seemingly meager inheritance. In addition, poverty soon loomed over him, and as he counted his dwindling coins, he revisited the fragments of torn paper. In a moment of revelation, he pieced them together like a puzzle, unveiling a hidden treasure map. A spark ignited within him, and he wondered if this was his father’s clever plan all along.

Fueled by newfound hope, the eldest son packed his scant belongings and embarked on a journey to discover the secrets his father had left behind. The sun rose on his expedition, and with each step, he envisioned the wealth and wonders awaiting him. Days turned into nights, and the path was fraught with perilous encounters, yet the brave son emerged unscathed from each trial.

Finally reaching his destination, the son stumbled upon an old shack perched near a magnificent waterfall. Eagerly entering the humble abode, he dreamt of opulence and extravagance, only to discover a simple piece of paper left by his father. The message inscribed upon it unveiled a profound revelation.

“I know you’ve faced hardships on this journey,” the letter read. “The necklace I gifted you holds the power to grant one wish to its wearer. I hope this wish brings you the prosperity you seek after enduring the humble beginnings I left you with.”

Overwhelmed with joy and gratitude, the son wasted no time in making his wish. Yet, as he basked in the glow of newfound wealth, a pang of regret crept over him. The son realized the importance of careful consideration, but in that moment, happiness prevailed, and he embraced the richness that surrounded him.
