His bad temper

Smurfy was a short man with a very bad temper. He got angry easily, sometimes to the extent of hitting someone if they angered him. This made everyone stay away from him. Most people preferred calling him on the phone as opposed to meeting him in person. Whenever they needed to talk to him or even when they needed something from him.

One day, he was just bored at home when he decided to go watch a movie to enjoy himself. He did not intend to engage anyone on this day as he was not looking for any trouble. In fact, to stay away from talking to people, he decided to carry a book. He planned to read while he was waiting for the movie to start. On this day, he had intentionally decided that he would stay away from people…. but that was not to be.

When the movie was about to start, he made his way to the movie theatre. When Smurfy was about to take his seat, he realized that he had been allocated a seat behind someone who was really tall. He tried changing positions looking for a way he would be comfortable and still see the screen. Unfortunately for him, no position worked. He still struggled to see the screen.

The only way he would enjoy the movie was for him to get the tall man to switch seats with him, he thought. He reached out to the man requesting him to switch seats but he would hear none of it. In fact, all he said to him was, “Move along you little mouse…. I don’t deal with short stuff”.

This made Smurfy very angry and he could not hold his temper anymore. He took out the book that he was reading and banged the tall man on his head so many times until he fell unconscious on the floor.

The man had to be taken to hospital for treatment and unfortunately for Smurfy, the movies had a no-fighting rule which he violated and because of this, he had to be taken to jail where he spent 1 day. According to the judge who handled his case, Smurfy needed his time in solitary confinement so that he would learn to control his anger.
