This is the tale of Hippy the ugly Hippo who turned out to be the most beautiful Hippo.
Hippy the Hippo and Gale the Giraffe were the best of friends. Hippy was known as the most beautiful hippo in the forest, while Gale was famous for his handsome looks. But once upon a time, Hippy wasn’t always so beautiful.
You see, when Hippy was little, he had a lovely purple glow that everyone in the forest adored. But one day, he saw some villagers dumping yucky green slime into his favorite swimming hole. Hippy was so upset by the slime that he decided never to go near the water again. He moved in with his cousins, the Land Hippos, who lived on the land but liked to swim too.
Even though Hippy’s cousins sometimes went for swims, Hippy was too scared to join them. He stayed on land and soon lost his once-beautiful glow. He turned dull, gray, and not very pretty. The other hippos thought Hippy was sick and didn’t want to be around him anymore. They chased him away and Hippy had to find a new home.
Hippy then went to live with his best friend, Gale the Giraffe. At first, everything was fun. They played games and talked together. But Hippy wasn’t the best roommate. He was messy, ate all the food, broke things, and never cleaned up after himself.
Gale was getting very tired of cleaning up after Hippy. He tried to think of a way to fix the problem. Then he had an idea—maybe sending Hippy back to the water would help.
One evening, Gale put a little sleepy powder in Hippy’s drink. When Hippy drank it, he fell fast asleep. Gale carefully carried Hippy back to the water where he used to live.
As soon as Hippy touched the water, something magical happened! His beautiful purple glow came back, brighter and more lovely than ever. Hippy realized that he had been afraid of the water for no reason at all.
From that day on, Hippy happily lived in the water again, where he glowed with even more beauty. And every time Gale visited, they had wonderful adventures together, with Hippy shining brightly and happily.
Moral of the Story: Sometimes, we’re afraid of things for no reason. Facing our fears can bring back our happiness and make us shine brightly.
