Under the sea lived a family of magical mermaids that had special powers. Their powers allowed them to draw beautiful pictures and bring them to life. This made their home one of the most beautiful homes under the sea.
News of their powers traveled far and wide making the pirates greedy for their power. The pirates had been hunting mermaids for several years but none of them had successfully caught a mermaid from this family. Among the pirates, was a boy determined to catch one of the mermaids and steal its power. He knew the way to succeed was to practice breathing underwater over long periods of time. With his determination, he practiced so hard, that he got gills.
He hatched a plan to live among the mermaids disguised as one of them. To do this, he bought a mermaid costume and went looking for the mermaid’s cave. He managed to sneak into their home and started living among them. One night while the mermaids were sleeping, he grabbed one of them in the hope of kidnapping her. His plan was to take the magical mermaid back to the pirates to harness her powers.
This was not his lucky day as the mermaid screamed so loudly that the other mermaids came to see what was happening. The mermaids were shocked to find that there was a stranger living among them. Being the first time they saw a boy, they were amazed at him. They thought instead of punishing him, they decided to keep him and live with him as one of them. He lived with them for so long that he grew close to them and soon, he developed the same powers that the mermaids had.
Meanwhile, the pirates were planning a rescue. When they came to save their friend, they noticed that he had become just like one of the mermaids. Happy, the Pirates took him with them and asked him to draw in the hope of becoming powerful.
Unknown to the pirates and the boy, anytime the powers were used for evil, they would remove a limb from the mermaid using their powers. Anytime the pirates asked the boy to draw something for evil or selfish gain, his fingers and toes would vanish, and this made him scream in pain.
Alerted by the boy’s screams, the mermaids quickly rushed to the boy’s rescue. To fight the pirates, the mermaids used their voices to produce dreadful screams. This deafened the pirates. They then rescued the boy from the pirate’s ship and took him back home with them. The boy became the king of the magical mermaids
