This is a story about a donkey that saved the day. In the countryside of Dinkel, the donkeys and farmers lived in peace. Firstly, the farmers would grow vegetables on the farms for their day-to-day meals. While the donkeys would help the farmers in carrying the heavy loads. One day, a strong wind came, and with it was a swarm of hungry locusts. They were eating all the crops on the land. With all the food on the farms gone, the farmers had to look for other options and their only choice was to eat the donkeys.

One by one, the farmers would lure the donkeys to the slaughterhouse to kill them. Unaware of what was happening, the donkeys thought that they were being taken to a better place. A place where all the donkeys had dreamed of living, and where the grass tasted like honey. A land where they lived in their own houses just like the farmers did.

One day, it was Bessie’s turn to go to the slaughterhouse. She said her goodbyes to all her friends who were not only happy for her but also wished they could go with her. Excited about the journey, Bessie was singing happy tunes all the way. She was looking forward to the time when she would arrive at her new home.

This is until the van took a turn to an abandoned road that led to a steel-looking house. Bessie was shocked to see herself being led toward a killing booth. It was at this point that she realized that all their dreams were false. There was no land with grass that tasted like honey; instead, all her friends were being led to their death.

What the farmers did not know is that Bessie was one of the strongest donkeys in the herd. Not to mention, he was the daughter of a buffalo and a donkey, and this gave her supernatural powers. These powers the normal donkeys did not have. Using her super strength, she overpowered the farmers. She kicked them managing to escape from the slaughterhouse. She quickly ran to the farm to inform her friends about what she had seen; about the fate that awaited them.

Upon hearing this, the donkeys hatched a plan to stop the farmers from eating and hurting them. Instead of running away, they decided they would fight the farmers. So that they would never eat their meat again. To do this, Bessie trained all the donkeys in martial arts giving them the power to fight by kicking anyone who threatened them in any way.

To this day, all donkeys are known to have the strongest kicks and Bessie became the donkey that saved the day.

Moral: There is strength within you.
