There was a proud man who thought of himself as better than everyone else. He had a big ego which led him to break his back. This is the story of the proud man.
There was once a man who was so full of pride he would never accept any help. He worked really hard so he could be just as wealthy as his neighbors. He was jealous of his neighbors, this pushed him to work extra hard. His wealth soon started rising slowly.
One day he was delivering some rice to the neighboring town when his donkey slipped and hit its head. He sat there thinking of what he could do when luckily one of his neighbors who was passing by offered to help. Since he was so envious of his wealthy neighbors, he refused his help and he instead told him that he would carry the rice all by himself.
He had two bags of rice which were each 6kg and 12kgs of rice. These bags were not exactly light. He struggled carrying the load on his back but he eventually collapsed and the weight broke his back. He wished he accepted help from his neighbor and laid there waiting for his death. Lucky for him his neighbor was coming back and he pleaded for help. His neighbor replied “Why were you so full of pride? Didn’t you know that pride comes before a fall?” . The neighbor went away leaving the proud man all alone.
Moral: Do not be proud.
