There was once a man who was known for having the ugliest looks in town. The people in the town he lived in were so kind to him that he never wanted to leave the town. Anytime he tried leaving the town’s borders, he would be met with a group of rowdy masked people. They would throw things at him, teasing and calling him all sorts of bad names. This made him feel so bad that he never wanted to leave the town. To him, the town was the only place where he felt safe.
One day, news of his mother who lived in the nearby town reached him. His mother had been unwell for quite some time and she needed to see her son before she died. This time, he had no choice but to endure the insults. He fought back against the bullies who were always at the town’s borders. As soon as he met the group of bullies, he went on an explosive rampage capturing all the bullies.
It was when he removed their masks that he realized that the people he thought were kind were not so kind after all. They confessed everything telling him that because he was the ugliest man in town it kept the town safe. Turns out that there was an ogre that had vowed to destroy the town and the man’s ugliness is the only thing that kept him away.
The ugly man could not believe what he was hearing. He was so hurt by their actions that he immediately went back to the town, packed all his belongings, and left the town never to come back again.
The town was on that day eaten by the ogre and no one’s life was spared.
Moral: Don’t lie to those around you.
