The farm fell into chaos just because of that one hen with an ego that the other chicken thought was bad for them
Once on a busy farm lived a hen who was the proudest bird around. She strutted around with her head held high, believing she was the best at everything! The other chickens didn’t quite like her bragging, but the proud hen thought they were just jealous of her amazing skills.
Every day, she woke up the farmers with her loud clucks, helped the pregnant hens, and found the tastiest seeds for everyone to eat. She believed that no one could do her jobs as well as she did!
But the other chickens were just tired of her boasting.
They decided to come up with a plan to make her think she should leave the farm and chase her “dream.” So, they whispered to her, “You know you’ll never be happy here! You need to explore the world!”
Excited by the idea, the proud hen flapped her wings and flew away, thinking she was meant for something great. The chickens cheered, happy to see her go; thinking that life would be better from then on. But, they soon realized that they had made a big mistake.
Without her help, the farm was in chaos! The farmers woke up late, the pregnant hens didn’t know when to eat, and everyone forgot when it was time to lay eggs. The farm was no longer the organized and happy place it one was—everyone was hungry, grumpy and sad.
The chickens felt guilty. They gathered together and wished for the proud hen to come back. They missed her wake-up calls and her helpfulness.
Then just a few days later, the proud hen returned! Things had not turned out as she had hoped they would. At first, she felt a little sad, thinking about her unfulfilled dream.
But when she saw all the chickens cheering and the farmers smiling, her heart began to brighten.
The other chickens surrounded her and said, “We’re so sorry! We didn’t realize how much you helped us!”
With a flutter of her feathers, the proud hen felt happier than ever. Everyone in the farm house learnt an important lesson that day – that everyone has a special role on the farm, and each job is important, even if it seems small.
Moral: Everyone has something special to contribute, even if we don’t always see it.
