Andrew had always admired his father whose passion for cars was undeniable. His father was a mechanic and loved fixing cars. Andrew admired this about him so much and he too, dreamed that one day he would become a mechanic and fix cars just like his dad.
When Andrew grew up, his dream changed a little, but it was still about cars. He wanted to build his very own dream car and win a medal with it!
Andrew worked day and night, barely sleeping, as he built his car with lots of care and hard work. After nine months, he felt it was ready for a big test.
Andrew took his car to a large, empty parking lot to see how it would perform. At first, things didn’t go soo well. Every time he went fast, the car would fall apart. But Andrew stayed positive and kept fixing it, determined to make it work.
Every day, he tested and fixed his car until it ran smoothly, or so he hoped.
When he felt his car was finally ready, Andrew entered it in a car racing competition. He was excited to race for a chance to win a big prize and a shiny medal. He carefully parked his car in the starting area along with the other racers.
Then pooow….the gun was shot in the air for the racers to start their race.
The race began, and Andrew zoomed through the first two laps. But oh no!
By the time he was going his third and last lap, his car suddenly stopped working.
Andrew was so close to finishing first, but now he was stuck. He didn’t give up, though. He got out of his car and pushed it with all his might, hoping to finish in the top three. Sadly, he came in second to last.
Andrew felt very sad, but he didn’t let this keep him down. He promised himself he would try harder next time. And try he did!
With each race, he learned more and improved his car. Finally, after many tries, Andrew’s hard work paid off, and he won the medal he had always dreamed of.
