The first born is a tale about the man who received a lesson adventure as a gift from his father.
There was once a poor old farmer who had three sons. Because he was getting very old and sick, his sons helped him with the farm and all the chores. This is except for his first born who was very lazy and loved to complain about everything.
When the farmer passed away, he left his sons different parts of his belongings. To his youngest son, he left the farm. To his middle son, he left the house and some of the things inside the house. And to his oldest son, his first born, he left a few pieces of torn paper, a necklace, and some money.
The oldest son used the money but soon fell into poverty. He felt very sad and wondered why his father left him with so little compared to his brothers.
As he was reminiscing, he took another look at the torn papers, which he had put away in a drawer. And as he carefully pieced the papers together like a puzzle, he was amazed to find they formed a map! “Is this what my father wanted me to find?” he wondered.
Excited and hopeful, the oldest son packed up his belongings and set off on a journey to follow the map. As he traveled, he dreamed of all the wonderful things he would buy and enjoy once he found the treasure.
He faced a few scary moments along the way but still managed to stay safe. Finally, he reached the spot marked on the map—a charming old shack by a beautiful waterfall.
When he entered the shack, he didn’t find treasure or gold, but there was a letter from his father.
The letter explained that the necklace his father gave him had a special power: it could grant one wish to its wearer. The father had hoped his son would use the wish wisely after enduring so much hardship.
With great excitement, the son made his wish for great wealth. He was very grateful for the lesson he learned, thanks to his father and he promised himself that he would enjoy his riches more wisely.
