The story of Heni’s failed plan. Heni was a really smart chicken. He had noticed that all his friends would come to the farm when Thin, the farmer would feed all of them until they were fat enough. Then just like that, they would disappear one by one. Heni one day followed the farmer to his house. It was then that he saw him preparing and cooking the fattened chicken for dinner.
From this day onwards, Heni knew he needed to be able to trick the farmer so that he would not be the next victim. Every time the owner got to him for inspection, Heni would pretend he was crazy. Heni would start eating some of the grass and stones that were around him. The farmer would always look away in disgust moving on to the next chicken. Once the farmer had left the chicken house, Heni would spit out the grass and stones that he pretended to eat, and was back to his normal self.
Heni’s plan worked, but not for long. After some time, the farmer became concerned about Heni and he decided to call a veterinarian to come and test him. When he examined Heni, he found nothing wrong with him. In fact, the doctor noted that Heni was one of the healthiest chickens in the group.
The farmer could not understand what was happening. He knew he had seen Heni eat grass and stones, but the farmer didn’t realize Heni’s failed plan. The farmer thought for him to still be healthy after all this, then maybe grass and stones was the right diet for the rest of the chickens, he thought.
The farmer happily took Heni to the house for his next meal….and the rest of the chickens were from then on served with grass and stones.
