Tryan had planned for the best day of his life, but he was unlucky through it all
It was supposed to be an unforgettable day for Tryan, but it didn’t quite start out as he’d planned. Let me rewind a bit.
Tryan had woken up with an electric buzz of excitement. Today was the day he’d finally get to hang out with Grace, the girl he’d admired from afar for two whole years. They were set to meet at the amusement park for lunch and some fun on the rides.
For Tryan, this wasn’t just a date; it was a dream come true. He often felt like luck had it out for him, but today seemed different. He felt like the universe was finally cutting him a break.
After a quick shower and slipping into his favorite outfit, Tryan zoomed off to Grace’s place. His heart raced as he rehearsed his clever lines in his head, hoping to impress her.
When he arrived, though, his well-practiced greeting seemed to fall flat. Grace gave him a polite smile, but the air between them was awkwardly tense.
They drove to the amusement park, and to cool off from the blazing sun, they decided to grab some ice cream.
Everything seemed to be going smoothly until Grace suddenly turned serious. “There’s something I need to tell you,” she said, her voice trembling slightly. “I don’t think this is going to work out.” She continued, “I wanted to wait until after today, but this is really uncomfortable for me.” With that, she stood up and walked away.
Tryan was left stunned, his heart sinking. Just then, the waiter came by with a gigantic cup of ice cream—meant for the two of them to share. But with Grace gone, Tryan had no choice but to eat it all by himself.
He trudged over to his favorite roller-coaster, the Rocket Ship, which he had loved since childhood. As he climbed into the seat, he took a big bite of ice cream, trying to mask his sadness with a smile.
Tears mixed with the ice cream as he rode the coaster, feeling like luck had turned its back on him once again.
Moral of the story: Sometimes, things don’t go as planned, and that’s okay.
