The Three Donkeys

The Three Donkeys

Three donkeys were looking for an adventure and they got one that altered their lives forever

Once upon a time, in a vibrant jungle, there lived three donkeys named Benny, Luna, and Max. They were not just family; they were the best of friends. Every day, they worked hard on their little farm, but they also loved to have fun and go on adventures. However, they were known for their mischievous antics, and trouble seemed to follow them wherever they went.

One sunny afternoon, after a long morning of farming, the trio decided they needed a break. They trotted over to the nearby watering hole, where they met their friend, Harry the Hyena. Harry was a bit of a trickster himself, always up for some fun.

“Hey, Harry!” Benny called out. “Got any exciting ideas for us?”

Harry’s eyes twinkled with mischief. “You bet! I’ve been sneaking into Farmer Joe’s field and having a blast. Want to join me?”

The donkeys exchanged glances, excitement bubbling within them. They agreed and followed Harry to the human farm. Under the cover of afternoon shadows, they crept into the fields, munching on juicy crops and causing all sorts of chaos. They didn’t realize that Farmer Joe had had enough and was planning to catch the naughty animals.

The next day, the donkeys returned to the farm, full of glee and unaware of the danger. While they were busy creating mayhem, Benny and Max accidentally tumbled into a deep, muddy ditch! Benny grabbed onto a sturdy root with his teeth, while Max held tightly to his brother’s legs. The ditch was deep, and if they let go, they would be in big trouble.

Harry the Hyena watched from a distance. He saw that things were getting serious and, feeling scared, he decided to run away. But not Luna! She couldn’t leave her brothers behind. “I’ll save you!” he shouted.

As he searched for something to help, Luna stepped right into a bear trap! The sharp teeth snapped shut, and she cried out in pain. Poor Luna was now stuck in the trap that scarred him with dark lines all over his body, while Benny and Max hung on for dear life in the ditch.

Benny, holding onto the root, felt Max pulling him down. “Don’t let go, Max!” he yelled. But Max was getting stretched thinner and longer by the minute. Luckily, as the stretching continued, it helped them reach the bottom of the ditch!

An idea then sparked in Benny’s mind. “Max, lift me up! I’ll climb on your back and get out!”

With a strong push from Max, Benny clambered up his brother’s long neck and scrambled out of the ditch. “I’m free!” Benny shouted, and he quickly reached down to pull Max up, too.

“Now, let’s get Luna!” Benny exclaimed. Together, they hurried to the bear trap. Together, they managed to free Luna, who was weak and hurt but still grateful to be out.

Breathing heavily, the three donkeys raced back into the jungle. When they arrived, their friends were shocked to see them alive. “Harry said you were captured!” one of them gasped.

From that day on, the three donkeys had new nicknames that fit their new look from the day’s adventure. Luna, who had battle scars from the trap, was called “Zebra,” and Max, who had grown taller from all his stretching during their escape, became “Giraffe.” Benny, was just Benny the Donkey.

From that day forward, the trio learned their lesson. They decided to stick to fun and safe adventures, never getting into trouble again.

Moral: Sometimes, even the closest friend will leave you in a tough spot. Always rely on family!
