The ogre with diamond teeth was hunted by many, but chose to help only one.
There was one a young miner named Jack who dreamed of finding the biggest diamonds ever. He had heard stories about an ogre living in the southern mountains who had enormous diamond teeth.
Jack was determined to find this ogre and take his diamond teeth, thinking it would make him the richest person in the world.
One day, Jack set out on his adventure, traveling through forests and up the steep hills until he reached the mountains where the ogre was said to live.
He finally arrived at the dark cave where he believed the ogre might be. But to his surprise, he saw one od his cousin sitting outside the cave, looking very calm.
Jack was shocked. “What are you doing here? Aren’t you afraid of the ogre?” he asked.
His cousin smiled and said, “Oh, you don’t need to worry about me. I am home. The ogre is my father.”
Jack was astonished. He had always thought his cousin didn’t have a father.
As they were growing up, his cousin had always told them that he did not have a father. It turned out that his cousin was half-human and half-ogre, and the ogre was his dad!
Just then, the ogre came home from his day out. The ogre had always been cautious of humans because they always wanted to kill him for his diamond teeth.
When the ogre saw Jack, he roared and was ready to chase him away. But before the ogre could do anything, Jack’s cousin stepped in and explained who Jack was.
It was at this point that the young miner mentioned to the ogre why he had come to hunt him down. Jack apologized for wanting to take the ogre’s teeth just to become rich. He also admitted that it was wrong to be so greedy.
The ogre was so moved by Jack’s honesty that he decided to help him.
“Since you were brave enough to tell the truth, I will give you one of my diamond teeth,” the ogre said. “This one has been hurting me for a while.”
With that, the ogre gave Jack one of his diamond teeth, and Jack left the cave with a shiny treasure.
He was not only rich but had also made a new friend.
The ogre, now pain-free, was happy to have made peace with the young truthful miner.
Moral: Honesty and kindness can lead to unexpected friendships and rewards.
