The Secret Helper

The Secret Helper
The story of the secret helper reminds us that help can sometimes comes from the most unlikely of places

There was once a happy goat that lived on a tall mountain next to a little village. The goat loved his home because it had an endless supply of sweet grass that he would munch on. He also loved the cool mountain air made him feel sleepy – something he liked to do when he was full.

The people in the village loved the mountain too. They thought a magical god lived there, making the mountain special and cool. Once, when it was very hot, they prayed to this god, asking for a nice, cool day.

Such hot days were also fun for the goat. Unable to sleep due to the sun and having so much time in his hands, he would create his own fun. He would use his strong kicks to clear some of the snow off the top of the mountain. As the snow fell, it made the village nice and cool. The villagers were thrilled and celebrated, thinking their prayers had worked!

This went on for months. Whenever it got too hot, the goat’s snow-clearing trick seemed to keep the villagers happy.

One day, the villagers became very curious. They wanted to see the magical god who was making their days cooler. So, they sent two brave men up the mountain to find this god. The men climbed up the mountain, and on the way, made friends with the mountain goat. He stayed with them, giving them company as they went up the mountain in search of the god the villagers wanted to meet.

Soon, the two brave men ran out of food. They grew very hungry and, sadly, made a terrible decision. They decided to catch and slaughter their new friend, the mountain goat for food.

As soon as they opened up its body, a bright, golden light shone from the goat into the sky – and then it vanished!

Just then, the men knew that this goat was no ordinary goat. This might have been the magical god they had been looking for all along.

From then on, the villagers learned that sometimes it’s better to
